New Zealand, New Zealand how gorgeous you are! With the finish of summer approaching and boat operate dragging on it was time to get out of the bilges and go sail. Go sail the excellent Hauraki Gulf. We desired to get back to our common shenanigans of climbing, fishing, diving, and finding a tiny crazy…
We pointed our bow to some of the famous islands these kinds of as Good Barrier, Mercury islands, Coromandel peninsula, Rangitoto and Waiheke. Not to mention the big town of Auckland was luring us south. With parks galore and gorgeous bays, the cruising in this location cant be defeat. Oh and did I mention underwater? The sea is alive! We have in no way seen so numerous fish. It was overwhelming to be in the thick of issues down there.
We walked in the lush forests of Good Barrier. Frequented wineries on Waiheke. Received a taste of big town existence in Auckland just before finding absent from all in the outer Mercury Islands.
But alas, just as we’d settled into the cruising existence, we had been rudely interrupted when a large storm rolled via reminding us that wintertime was on its way and definitely, it was time for us to go. Time to head north wherever the palm trees sway. So with the previous couple of errands performed we had been anxiously ready for the weather to make a beeline for Fiji.
